Bengaluru: The Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions to government and government-quota seats in professional courses will be held from May 2 to 4. However, CET 2017 will not be applicable to students aspiring for government and government-quota seats in medical and dental courses in the State. Instead, they will have to attempt the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education to qualify for the seats. Students were already made aware of this change as there was confusion over which entrance test will be considered as the gateway for medical and dental admissions.

According to the Karnataka Examinations Authority, the test will be conducted for admissions to engineering, ISMH and farm science courses. For admission to architecture courses, students will as usual have to appear for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture.

The biology and mathematics tests will be held on May 2, followed by physics and chemistry on May 3. The Kannada language test for Horanadu and Gadinadu candidates will be conducted on May 4.
