Bengaluru: According to sources, ground workers at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru has allegedly forced a four-year-old kid with a US passport to take a pre-departure Covid – 19 test.

Without a negative Covid – 19 test report, the airline staff has reportedly refused to let the child accompany his parents, who are also US citizens, on a holiday trip to Port Blair.

According to guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, children under the age of five are exempt from pre-departure and post-arrival Covid – 19 tests at airports. In violation of the Ministry’s guidelines, the four-year-old child was forced to take the Covid – 19 test.
