Chitradurga: Three passengers who were onboard a private bus died, and more than 35 were injured after the bus on which they were traveling toppled near Holalkere in the district in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to the police, the bus was going to Shivamogga from Bengaluru. Two passengers were killed on the spot, and another one succumbed to the injuries in the hospital.
There were 50 passengers on board the bus. The injured have been shifted to Holalkere Taluka hospital; two passengers’ conditions are said to be serious, and they are likely to be shifted to Bengaluru for further treatment.
PSI Suresh and other senior police officials rushed to the spot. Holalkere police have launched an investigation into the accident; the reason for the mishap is not yet known.
