Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj S. Bommai witnessed the first tunneling power plant here at Shivaji Nagar Metro Station on Wednesday September 22.
Speaking on this occasion CM Bommai said, the metro would be the lifeline of the Bengaluru in near future.
The 855-metre tunnel has been drilled so far from Cantonment to Shivaji Nagar. He instructed the concerned officials to complete the second phase of the metro construction within 2024 by employing more labourers.
“People are cooperating in the metro construction activities. The metro will be constructed up to Devanahalli airport,” he added.
Ministers Umesh Katti, S.T. Somashekhar, BDA President S.R. Vishwanath, MP P.C. Mohan, MLA Rizwan Arshad, Lehar Singh and others were also present.
Meanwhile, Bommai also inaugurated the building of the Legal Metrology Department ‘Mapana Soudha’ situated on Ali Azgar road. Minister of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs’ and Forest Umesh Katti, and MLA Rizwan Arshad were present.
