Bengaluru: Condemning the Income Tax raids on the houses of Congress and Janata Dal (S) coalition leaders in Mandya and Hassan districts, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had called for a protest in front of the I-T department office, here on Thursday, March 28.
CM HDK was joined by State Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar, former chief minister Siddramaiah, KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G Parameshwar and other Congress and JDS coalition leaders.
Addressing the protestors, CM HDK blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah and said that the I-T department was working according to the whims and fancies of the duo.
He also attacked verbally the I-T Director of Bengaluru by saying the even he too was not innocent as he had several records against him and that he had many apartments in Mumbai.
CM HDK blamed the I-T Director of having internal adjustments with the BJP.
“The current I-T Director has been promised of a Governor’s post after he retires, which is in the next three months”, he said.
He has warned the I-T department of executing the same action plan as the one of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had used against the CBI officers who had gone ahead to conduct a raid on Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar’s residence regarding the Saradha Group chit fund scandal. Mamata had gheraoed the CBI officials.
Meanwhile, former chief minister and Chairman of Government-alliance Coordination Committee Siddaramaiah said that DKShi too was mentally disturbed and in a state of depression due to constant I-T raids by the BJP.
