Bengaluru: Major irrigation minister DK Shivakumar had now become the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) Go man. If the sources in the party are to be believed, AICC president RaGa roped in DKShi to douse rebellion in the party’s Telangana unit.
“Thursday was the last day for filing nomination and several party leaders are contesting as rebel candidates. So RaGa decided to send DKShi to Telangana to convince the rebel leaders to withdraw their nomination papers. The election outcome is very crucial for the Congress, which is eyeing a come back in South India,” said a party leader.
“DKS will be in Telangana for next ten days. He has been provided accommodation in a star hotel of Hyderabad. He will carry out campaign across the state,” he added.
“He has money and energy. That has made him the preferred choice of the party high command,” he added.
