Bengaluru: In order to connect with the masses, which has been the Congress’s faultline in the past, the Congress state unit decided to form Arogya Hasta COVID 19 warriors teams in all the 224 assembly constituencies.
A decision in this regard was taken by party state unit president DK Shivakumar. “The idea is preparing the party cadres for the upcoming Grama Panchayat elections. Later the same team will be used for the 2023 state assembly election too,” said party sources.
“On a pilot basis, these teams have already formed in a few constituencies in the Bengaluru city. Next, the scheme will be extended to all the assembly constituencies. The team will work on COVID 19 related relief work and awareness drives. Later, they will involve themselves in political activities,” explained a senior party leader who was part of a discussion in this regard carried out by KPCC president DKShi.
