Bengaluru: Following Corona Virus scare in Bengaluru, Minister for Health B Sreeramulu will skip his daughter Rakshitha’s marriage preparations on Tuesday. Instead he will hold an emergency review meeting at his official residence on race course road.
An urgent press meet has been convened at 12 noon.
On Monday, a young software engineer who works in Bengaluru was tested positive for coronavirus in Hyderabad. The man is among the two new cases of the deadly virus that has infected more than 88,000 people across the globe and killed over 3,000.
All those who came in contact with the techie in Bengaluru are being monitored, the Karnataka Health Minister said.
Sriramulu has planned a nine-day long marriage ceremony of Rakshitha starting February 27. She is marrying Hyderabad-based industrialist Ravi Kumar on March 5 at Palace grounds of the city.
Following the a Corona positive case in Telangana and the findings that the affected youth was in Bengaluru, the health department will convene a review meeting today. Sreeramulu is expected to review the preparations to tackle the issue in an event of any outbreak.
Senior officials of the health department are attending the meeting. Medical education minister Dr Sudhakar is also expected to make it to the meeting.
