COVID-19: ASI in Bengaluru dies; first police casualty for this infectious disease

Bengaluru: 59 years old ASI who was just 15 days to retire from his service has become the first COVID-19 casualty of the state police force. He succumbed to the deadly disease today. His swab sample has tested positive for the COVID-19.

As per the COVID-19 reporting rules, the details of the police officer is been withheld. “The deceased police officer was working in the traffic police wing of the city police. He was on leave from June 1. He collapsed at his house on Monday. He was rushed to the KC general hospital in Malleshwaram. He was declared dead on Tuesday.” informed sources. His contacts are not quarantined. The contact tracing process started.

It can be recalled that during the ongoing corona crisis across the state 21 police stations were sealed down till now and sanitized due to the COVID-19 scare.

Meanwhile, the police department asked the staff to practice yoga and exercise regularly and consume quality food to avoid any problem due to the COVID-19.
