‘Covid 19 vaccine for youth above 18 years will not start on May 1’

Bengaluru: Minister of Information and Public relations, CC Patil informed that those above the age of 18 years may not be administered Covid – 19 vaccines from May 1. “Instead they may need to wait for a week,” explained the minister.

“By May 18-20, this mass vaccination drive may begin in a full-fledged scale,” he said.

According to the sources in the health department, the first batch of containments are expected to arrive to the state only in the second week of May.

Meanwhile, the vaccination drive for people above 45 years will continue. The state has 5 lakh doses of vaccine stock now. On Saturday, May 1, another 10 lakh doses will arrive.
