Bengaluru: Owing to lack of appropriate documents, the owner of the Pawan Security Agency, which provided the security guards to the Bengaluru Tennis Club in Cubbon Park, has been arrested by the Cubbon Park Police. It has been reported that the owner, Keshavamurthy failed to provide the necessary background verification documents of the two security guards allegedly involved in the gang rape of a woman in on Wednesday night.
The arrested security guards
He was arrested by the Cubbon Park police on Saturday under Section 20 of the Private Security Agency Regulation Act.
Sandeep Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division), said Section 20 of the Private Security Agency Regulation Act makes it mandatory on the part of the Security Agencies to compulsorily get background check done on the people who are employed as private security guards.
Soon after the arrest of the two security guards, the police asked the Security Agency whether they had got the background verification done for the accused before employing them, to which the company did not provide a positive reply.
