Davangere: A section of the historical Vadnal fort located in Chanagiri taluk here has collapsed due the heavy downpour in the area.
There are several houses in the surrounding area of the fort and locals have expressed concern that the fort may collapse completely if the rain fury continues. While no casualties were reported in the collapse that occurred five days ago, the stones have fallen onto the streets inconveniencing the school-going children and others who have to hop over them to reach their destination.
The public mentioned that the local MLA Vadnal Rajanna had not visited the area even after five days into the incident.
