Bengaluru: Since the day after relinquishing charge as the BJP’s state unit president, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has been keeping Nalin Kumar Kateel out of major party decisions. Now, one such decision has led to a controversy with Kateel issuing a press statement denying any such development.
It all started when CM BSY announced that a committee, led by C V Ramannagar, has been formed to finalise the party’s strategy for the upcoming BBMP mayoral and deputy mayoral elections. Revenue minister R Ashok also stated that the committee will shortlist the aspiring candidates and that BSY will pick one among these aspirants.
However, Nalin Kumar Kateel, on Wednesday, denied the formation of any such committee. He made it clear that no committee has been constituted in connection with the BBMP mayoral and deputy mayoral elections.
According to sources, Kateel is upset with the way BSY is sidelining him. “Party leaders are not helping Kateel in organisational matters. Leaders loyal to BSY are openly insulting him. This has come as a big headache for Kateel,” said a BJP leader.
