Pradeep Kumar Acharya, a resident of Urwa Stores, and Rithvik Alevooraya K V, student of Sahyadri College of Engineering, had won four gold medals for India under the senior and junior divisions of the Commonwealth Benchpress Powerlifting Championship, respectively, held at St Joh’s in Canada a few days ago. What was most noticeable, however, was that no one from the district administration was present when the medal winners arrived back at their homeland.
