Diwali firecracker explosions leave 26 injured in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A total of 26 individuals, including children, sustained injuries due to the bursting of firecrackers in a single day on Sunday. Presently, 22 of them are receiving medical care at Narayana Nethralaya, while four are being treated at Minto Hospital. Among the 22 patients at Narayana Nethralaya, 10 have sustained severe injuries, and the remaining 12 have minor injuries.

Rohit Shetty, Head of Narayana Nethralaya, confirmed, “They are all receiving treatment.” Meanwhile, doctors at Minto Hospital stated that among the four admitted there, two individuals sustained serious injuries, while the other two suffered minor injuries.

Minto Hospital introduced a helpline and a round-the-clock eye care system to address eye injuries during the Diwali festivities.

Narayana Nethralaya Super Speciality Eye Hospital has organized 24/7 emergency eye care services on November 12, 13, and 14. They’ve also initiated a helpline for eye-related treatments.
