DK sees highest spike in Corona cases with 147 new cases; Udupi gets 45 cases

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered its highest single-day spike with 147 new corona positive cases, on Sunday, July 5. Udupi, on the other hand registered 45 new cases.

The total positive cases in DK district reached 1,232 while COVID fatalities stand at 22 in the DK.

Meanwhile, the total positive cases in Udupi stands at 1321.

In DK district, 47,885 people have been screened, 20,650 samples have been sent for tests, out of which 18,842 turned out negative.

As many as 38 patients, including three children, were discharged on Sunday. As many as 10 patients are currently in ICU.

Of the 147 who tested positive on Sunday, 48 were discovered after random testing in Ullal. T

In Udupi, total of 17,824 samples have been collected so far and out of them, 15,074 samples have turned out to be negative.

As many as 1,322 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 45 on Sunday.
