Bengaluru: In an unexpected turn of events, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar paid a visit to the residence of BJP MLC KP Nanjundi in Dollars Colony, Bengaluru, on Sunday morning. This visit has stirred the political pond in the state, speculations are rife that Nanjundi may join the Congress party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Nanjundi is also an influential leader having hold on the Vishwakarma community. The Congress party might be thinking of leveraging his influence in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Support of Nanjundi could prove beneficial for the Congress party in the election as the Vishwakarma community voters are in large number in the state.
During the visit, DK Shivakumar and Nanjundi had a breakfast together. However, Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar was quick to downplayed importance of the meeting, stating that it was merely a courtesy visit and nothing more.
