Bengaluru: Once called the ‘trouble-shooter’ of the Congress party, today, DK Shivakumar is facing one of the worst phases of his life. As per sources, the sitting MLA from Karnataka representing Kanakapura constituency and former minister, Shivakumar had urged the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a razor, but the ED declined to meet even this demand.
It is said that, on Sunday, DKShi’s advocates appealed for a razor or facility for shaving for their client at the Tughlak Road Police Station, where he is presently lodged, but the ED officials asked them to wait till Monday. Following the denial, the advocates decided to move to ED special court on Monday.
It may be recalled that Shivakumar had urged the ED to give him a break from questioning on account of Gauri Ganesha festival held during the first week of September. The ED had not entertained this plea too. Later, speaking to reporters, DKShi had broken down speaking about how the ED denied him even an opportunity to attend the festival and perform age-old customs and rituals.
The former minister was arrested recently in connection to an alleged money-laundering case.
