Bengaluru: In the wake of an increase in Covid – 19 cases in Bengaluru, Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan convened a meeting with officials and assessed preparedness at KC General Hospital in Malleswaram on Saturday January 8.
He has announced that door-to-door swab collecting will be implemented in the constituency.
“Testing will also be done on a door-to-door basis. I have also asked officials to locate a Public Health Centre in the constituency that will be open 24×7, ” said Narayan.
Following the visit, he directed officials to submit a proposal to fill the hospital’s medical and paramedical staffing shortage as soon as possible, and he promised them immediate approval. Officials have been ordered to put in place the helpline and war room that were operating during the second wave, as well as the Covid care centre, he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister has directed BBMP officials to consult with companies such as Wipro in order to acquire effective Cloud Medical Services (Cloud Surgeon Service), to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the Life Science Diagnostic Centre in order to expedite certain medical tests, and to make arrangements with ISCKON to provide nutritious food to those admitted to hospitals for treatment.
He reviewed the development of the Jayadeva Cardiac Centre’s construction of a 50-bed paediatric division and a 60-bed division. The KC General Hospital currently has 106 ventilator-equipped beds, 11 HFNC oxygen beds, a 60-bed step-down ICU with HE monitors, 3,000 pulse oximeter banks, 200 contactless monitors, 100 oxygen concentrators, and 200 home isolation oxygen concentrators. A 30-bed step-down ICU ward, a ward with 15 C-Tap devices for treating children, and a high-tech laboratory are also available at the Palace Guttahalli PHC.
