Bengaluru: Major irrigation minister DK Shivakumar is expected to face more trouble in the coming days with the Income Tax Department (IT) writing to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Election Commission of India (ECI) over various irregularities committed by him.
According to the sources, if the charges are proved then DKShi is expected to face an uphill task to come out of the web of legal problems.
According to the sources, last week the IT wrote a letter to the SEBI informing about his alleged partnership and shareholding pattern and also his connections with a real estate major, which is operating across south India and in the Middle Eastern countries.
The IT department made serious accusations of floating the market regulations by both DKShi and the company.
In another letter, the IT department informed the ECI that the affidavit submitted by DKShi along with his election nomination papers and real income doesn’t match. “It is over and above 230%,” IT department informed ECI.
“Both the charges are serious. The Minister is in deep problem,” said JDS sources.
Meanwhile, following the IT letter, CM HD Kumaraswamy spoke to his father HD Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister and discussed about the future course of action.
