Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a migrant labourer from Bengal attacked his pregnant wife with acid for not giving him Rs.10,000.
According to the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police in the city, the identity of the woman is yet not revealed as she is battling for life. “The couple is from Bengal. They had approached a fertility centre saying that they wanted to join the surrogate mother scheme.
The centre asked them to come after 2 weeks. Husband’s name is Bishwas. Recently, he was forcing his pregnant wife to collect Rs.10,000 from any means and give to him, but as she didn’t give money, he attacked her with acid. She is now four months pregnant,” police said.
“They were staying in a small hut. No one is aware of their address or other details. Those who saw her crying for help alerted us. We admitted her to Victoria hospital,” police added.
