Bengaluru: Dr Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, the esteemed founder of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, has been conferred with a Doctorate of Letters – Honoris Causa by Sri Krishnadevaraya University Anantapuram. The prestigious award was presented during the XXI Convocation held on July 17, 2023, under the distinguished presence of the Honorable Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Chancellor of the University, Justice S Abdul Nazeer.
The event was graced by Botsa Satyanarayana, the Special Guest of Honour and Honorable Minister of Higher Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramakrishna Reddy. In addition to receiving this esteemed recognition, Mahantesh also delivered the convocation address, inspiring the graduates with his words of wisdom and empowering insights.
The significance of this honorary doctorate is further magnified by the presentation made by Justice S Abdul Nazeer, an eminent justice and the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Being a native of Beluvai, Karnataka, and having practised law for two decades in the Karnataka High Court and other courts within the state, Justice Nazeer’s involvement adds a special resonance to the occasion.

This honorary doctorate serves as a testament to his exceptional contributions, dedication, and visionary leadership in empowering the disabled community and creating a more inclusive society.
Dr Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar was unanimously elected as the Lifetime Chairperson of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India in Bengaluru on 8,9 July 2023
Dr Mahantesh, Founder and Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled addressed the 52nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on March 20, 2023 and spoke on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically on individuals with disabilities, including those who are blind or visually impaired.
