Bengaluru: A divison bench of the High Court dismissed the writ appeal challenging the dismissal of a petition seeking directions to the State government to order CBI probe into the suicide case of DySP M K Ganapathi.

Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and Justice RB Budihal dismissed the appeal filed by Ganapathi’s father K Kushalappa and brother K Machaiah. A single-judge bench of the High Court had earlier dismissed the petition, stating he did not find any ground to refer the matter to CBI for investigation.

M K Ganapathi, who was serving as DySP at Mangaluru blamed former home minister K J George and senior IPS officers A M Prasad and Pranab Mohanty in an interview to a television channel before committing suicide at a lodge in Madikeri on July 7.
