Bengaluru: Mahadevapura police have apprehended a suspect for making a hoax bomb threat call to the owner of Pasta Street Restaurant. The individual in custody has been identified as Velu, an employee of the establishment.
Reportedly, Velu, who had been employed at the restaurant, placed the call while under the influence of alcohol. In the call, he falsely claimed that a bomb had been planted on the premises. He later admitted to his actions, citing frustration over unpaid wages as his motive.
The alertness of Mahadevapura police was prompted by a complaint lodged by the restaurant following the threatening call. Acting swiftly, authorities conducted a thorough search of the premises throughout the night. Ultimately, it was confirmed that the call was indeed a hoax.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Velu was employed at the Indiranagar branch of the restaurant. A case has been registered at the Mahadevapura police station.
