Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy lashed out at the Congress party for tweeting, claiming that the party had organized a non-vegetarian lunch party to lure voters at his farmhouse near Bidadi.

The tweet also claimed that the party organized a lunch event under the pretext of Ugadi festival’s Hosatodaku celebration for its cadre and voters.

The Congress party had also urged the election commission to take action. The election officials visited the farmhouse based on the complaint, and it is not yet clear whether the officials have seized the food prepared for the event.

While speaking to reporters, Kumaraswamy admitted they planned to meet for lunch; only leaders were to gather, and except for them, no one was invited.

He also claimed that at his Bidadi farmhouse, on any given day, around 100-120 workers work, and they were preparing the food in the wake of the celebration, he said.

He also criticized Congress for misusing power and asked them to stop such raids. “I know what is allowed and what is not allowed while election-related model code of conduct is in force,” said Kumaraswamy.
