Bengaluru: Final rites of Pejawara Vishwesha Tirtha will be held at Poorna Prajna Vidya Peetha, Bengaluru premises, located at Kattariguppe near Basavanagudi.
According to the mutt sources, the mortal remains of the seer will be airlifted from Udupi to Bengaluru on Sunday afternoon and the body will be kept at the Basavanagudi national park grounds for the public to pay their last respect.
The belongings of the seer have been taken in six Tempo Travellers from the Udupi to Bengaluru. The 89-years-old seer, who was admitted to the KMC hospital following breathing difficulties on December 20 breathed his last on Sunday morning at 9.20 am.
The Seer was brought to Pejawar Mutt in Udupi temple premises on Sunday morning where seven seers of the Mutt recited Vishnu Sahasranama. After that, he will be buried at the Poorna Prajna Vidya peetha premises as per the Madhwa tradition.
City Police Commissioner Bhaskara Rao has beefed up security in the city as several senior leaders across the country are arriving at Bengaluru for the public homage.
Devotees from B’luru, Mysuru, Delhi throng Udupi
As the news of the shifting of the seer to the Pejavara mutt in car street of the Udupi was confirmed, hundreds of his devotees from across the state and other parts of the country started to throng this temple town.
From Bengaluru, students of the Poorna Prajna Vidya Peetha left the institution with the deities of the seer kept in the mutt. All wanted to catch a glimpses of the seer.
Senior state and central leaders are also on the way to Udupi. The protocol officers from the Bengaluru are now camping at Udupi.
