Finally Govt compensates braveheart Koppad’s wife with 4 acre land

Bengaluru: The state government finally kept its promise by handing over documents related to transfer of 4 acre land to braveheart Koppad’s wife Mahadevi recently.

Kundagol legislator Channabasappa Sathyappa Shivalli handed over the land documents to the wife of braveheart Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad, Mahadevi on behalf of the state government at Tahsildar’s office.

Thanking the state government and the local legislator, Mahadevi Koppad expressed her happiness over getting documents of ownership of land in Mattigatti village in the form of compensation. She said, “State government has done what is due for my husband. A government job as well, will fulfil my needs.”

Few days ago, a campaign was launched urging the government to provide job and land to Mahadevi Koppad.

Speaking on the occasion, Kundagol Legislator Shivalli said the government had kept its promise by giving Mahadevi Koppad a site in Hubballi, a compensation amount of Rs 25 Lakh and 4 acre land. “A prominent road will be named after Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad and a job will be offered to Mahadevi Koppad,” assured Shivalli.

Braveheart Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad, the proud son of Karnataka, had died after he was miraculously rescued alive from beneath snow bed of over 35 feet after an avalanche hit a post in Siachen glacier.

Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad was awarded with Sena Medal for gallantry by Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on January 15, 2017.
