Bengaluru: The first grass field of the state is coming up inside the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve in an 80 hectares land inside the park, which is spreading over 843 square kilometers.
According to the authorities, the idea of ensuring that herbivorous animals do not fight food paucity has led to the developing of the grass field. The project has been estimated to cost Rs 35 lakhs.
According to Narayana Swamy, director, Nagarahole tiger reserve, it is the first of its kind in the state.
“Only local varieties of grass will be cultivated. The sowing works will begin soon. Experts from Maharastra are training our staff and locals,” he stated.
