Bengaluru: The Avalahalli police of the city have arrested a retired soldier of the Indian Army, who served for 20 years, for lodging a false complaint alleging the entry of terrorists into the state.
According to the police, the arrested accused is a resident of Munivenkateshwara layout under the Avalahalli police limits. He called the police control room on Thursday night, informing that terrorists had entered the state. This, in turn, led to a lot of confusion.
After confirming that the intel was false, the police launched a hunt for the miscreant. Although his mobile phone was switched off, the police were able to trace him based on the tower location. He was arrested from his residence on Friday evening.
According to police sources, the miscreant served in the Indian army for 20 years and two of his children are also in the Indian army. “He informed that one of his sons was a martyr of the Kargil war,” they added.
