Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has stayed an order by the Legislative Council to form a Joint Legislative Committee to examine the permission given to Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Colleges prior to 2021.

After hearing the petitions filed by the Karnataka State Association of the Management of Nursing and Allied Health Science Institutions, Hyderabad-Karnataka Nursing Management Association, and Karnataka Nursing Institutions Management Association, the vacation bench issued the interim order.

“Subject to further consideration, the order constituting the Joint Legislative Committee to examine permission given prior to 2021 will be stayed. It is made clear that the question of the Legislature’s powers in connection to the legislature’s provisions contained in the Act should be interpreted “informed the court.
