Chitradurga: The skeletal remains of an entire family have been discovered in a residence in Chitradurga district. The eerie scene, unfolding in the home of retired government executive engineer Jagannath Reddy (85), has sent shockwaves through the community. The victims are believed to be Jagannath Reddy, his wife Prema (80), daughter Triveni (62), and sons Krishna (60) and Narendra (57), pending official confirmation through forensic examination.

The family, known for their reclusive lifestyle, vanished from public view in 2019, leaving their residence locked and secrets concealed behind a mysteriously broken main door. The chilling discovery came to light after local media personnel received a tip from a concerned individual, prompting a police investigation.

Upon reaching the scene, authorities were met with a house that bore signs of intrusion and ransacking. The macabre tableau within revealed four skeletons, positioned in a surreal sleeping arrangement – two on beds, two on the floor. Another skeleton, in a separate room, added to the disturbing scene.

The crime scene has been sealed to preserve evidence, with Forensic Science Laboratory experts from Davanagere summoned to collect crucial information. The cause of death remains uncertain, with authorities considering suicide, foul play, or an as-yet-undiscovered twist. Definitive answers hinge on the results of forensic examinations and autopsies.

State Home Minister G Parameshwara, addressing the media from Tumakuru, acknowledged the gravity of the situation and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation. As samples head to the forensic science lab, the community anxiously awaits closure, hoping that forensic analysis will lift the veil on the mysteries surrounding the skeletal remains and provide clarity on this harrowing saga.
