Bengaluru: In a surprising move, the Hassan City Municipal Council issued show-cause notice to Suraj and Prajwal Revanna, children of PWD minister HD Revanna, for building an RCC building within six meters of the border of the State Highway in ward number 1 of the city.
According to authorities, the brothers built an RCC building within six meters of the BM Road, where the state highway passes through in the city. As per the rules, no building shall be constructed within a six meters radius of any state highway.
According to the notice dated October 22, issued under section 187 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, the building has been found to be within the restricted six meters.
In his notice, the Commissioner directed Prajwal and Suraj to remove the encroachment. “Else the council will remove it. The owners must bear the expenses,” stated the notice.
