Bengaluru: Facing pressure, the Hassan city municipal council partially demolished a building jointly owned by Prajwal and Suraj Revanna, the grand children of former PM H D Deve Gowda and children of PWD minister H D Revanna.
According to the authorities, both Prajwal and Suraj Revanna were issued a notice in October of 2018, directing the removal of the building which is built on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru road. As they didn’t remove the encroachments voluntarily, on Saturday, the council removed the encroachments.
“A total of 41 such structures have been demolished,” informed an officer who is part of the demolition drive.
The CMC claims that the building has been illegally built on the property owned by Prajwal and Suraj Revanna, that is located in close proximity to the state highway. The municipal body states that the norms under section 187 of the Karnataka Municipality Act of 1964 stands violated in this case.
