Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has denied to intervene in IAS officer Vinay Kumar’s report on alleged special facilities provided to AIADMK leader Sasikala V. Natarajan, who is under punishment for corruption charges at Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru.
The single-member bench of Raghavendra Chouhan carried out the trial on a petition submitted by retired IPS officer H N Sathyanarayana Rao demanding cancellation of Vinay Kumar’s report in the issue.
During the trial, lawyer of the petitioner, Puttige R.Ramesh said, “Sathyanarayana earned fame as a sincere officer. He also won the President’s award for the same. The media reports say that clean chit has been given to him in Vinay Kumar’s report.”
On behalf of the government, Additional Advocate General A S Ponnanna said that Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has already lodged an FIR against Sathyanarayana Rao.
Responding to this, the judicial bench said, “Let the ACB continue its investigation. If necessary, a new petition can be filed requesting to cancel the FIR.” The bench has postponed the trial.
