Bengaluru: Another round of dialogue between the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Administrative Board members, Labour Department officials and Metro staff, held at Labour Court also failed on Monday.

Namma metro staffs have decided to carry out the strike on March 22 with various demands. After a failed meeting last Friday, in the second round of negotiation meeting, the BMRCL officials demanded the staff to cancel the strike first and demands would be considered later, but the It BMRCL Employees’ Association Members did not agree.

“We hoped that they would at least give recognition to our association, but it went in vain and dialogue failed. So, now it is confirmed that there will be strike on March 22,” said BMRCL Employees’ Association Vice President Surya Narayana Murthy. In fact, they had agreed for all demands except recognition for the association, but at the end, they took a U-turn and denied all demands, he added.

An Association Member complained, “Higher officials of the corporation don’t attend the meeting, it is difficult to come to a conclusion. Officials said that they may call another meeting on March 22, but I am not sure about it. Anyhow, our stand will not change,” he said.
