Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court directed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Tuesday April 19 to give work orders to American Road Technology and Solutions Pvt Ltd for further pothole-filling work in the city within 36 hours.
The BBMP has been instructed to submit a report on the matter by Thursday by a division bench led by Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi.
The BBMP is yet to issue work orders to fix the new stretch of roads identified in the recent joint survey, informed the counsel for the company that operates Python machines. The work could not begin since the work order had not been issued, the counsel added.
The BBMP’s advocate requested more time to complete the work order, claiming that the company was having difficulties with the formalities. Despite the survey identifying roads in need of immediate repair, the bench expressed its dissatisfaction orally with the delay in issuing work orders. It said some stretches require immediate attention due to the pre-monsoon showers.
