Bengaluru: The statement of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy that veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge should have been the CM in the coalition government seems to have irked former CM and Congress leader Siddaramaiah.
Addressing reporters on Wednesday, he asked the reporters why he should be responding to the statement made by the CM.
“Have I said that Kharge should be the CM or has Kharge himself spoken about it. It is HDK’s statement to which I have no need to respond,” said the former CM.
“It is not my job to respond to the CM’s statements,” he said.
The CM had recently said that Kharge should have been the CM in the coalition government and that though the JDS was willing to give the post to him, nobody from the Congress ever proposed his name.
