Bengaluru: With the idea of ensuring that tanker mafia does not misuse the drinking water crisis across the state for money making, the state government has directed all the district administrations to make sure all the water tankers have GPS in place.
An order was issued in this regard by the state government on Wednesday.
According to the sources, GPS was made compulsory following the complaints that fake bills are created without supplying water.
According to the authorities, the DCs of all the districts are directed to procure the GPS using the funds available in their bank account.
“In over 3,000 villages, water is supplied via tankers. Still, there are complaints that enough water is not supplied. Based on these complaints this decision has been taken, ” explained an officer.
