Parameshwara clarified that Darshan is receiving standard treatment similar to any other accused individual, refuting rumors of privileges such as serving Biryani or providing luxurious amenities.

“I have personally looked into these reports and the police have confirmed that no such special treatment is being afforded to Darshan or his associates,” Parameshwara asserted during a press briefing in Bengaluru. “It is crucial for the police to conduct their investigation without any external influence. I have also consulted with the Bengaluru Police Commissioner to ensure transparency.”

Darshan and his associates were arrested on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old resident of Chitradurga. The incident reportedly stemmed from Renukaswamy’s controversial comments on social media regarding Pavithra Gowda, a friend of Darshan and an actress.

In response to the situation, Bengaluru Police have implemented Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) around the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station, restricting public gatherings within a 200-meter radius. This measure aims to maintain law and order during the investigation period.

The case has garnered significant attention, highlighting issues of social media scrutiny and the responsibilities of public figures in Karnataka’s entertainment industry. Authorities continue to stress the importance of fair treatment and unbiased investigation in accordance with the law.
