Chikkamagaluru: A customer who walked into the bank to withdraw of Rs 75000 cash against a cheque given by his friend ended taking twice the amount home.
To everyone’s surprise neither the teller realized giving neither excess amount nor the customer who received the amount. After 2 weeks when the customer Anwar wanted to use the withdrawn cash he found Rs 1,50,000. To clear the doubts he called his friend Harish who issued him the cheque who confirmed the amount as Rs 75000.
Honest Anwar accompanied by his friend Harish returned the excess amount to the bank. Surprisingly the bank kept mum though its balance sheet was showing a negative balance of 75000.
The honest gesture by the customer Anwar saved the bank teller from losing money from his pocket.
