Milind Chandwani, an IIM graduate and founder of Camp Diaries Bengaluru, shared a bizarre yet memorable experience on Instagram that turned a routine cab ride into an unexpected adventure. While returning from Bengaluru airport at 3 AM, Chandwani’s cab driver became so drowsy that he struggled to stay awake. After stopping for tea and a cigarette, the driver still couldn’t keep his eyes open, prompting Chandwani to offer to drive.
To his surprise, the driver handed over the keys without hesitation, and soon, Chandwani found himself behind the wheel, navigating Bengaluru’s streets with the help of Google Maps. In his Instagram post, he described the moment as a mix of emotions: feeling grateful for the driver’s trust, sympathetic to his exhaustion, and amused at how quickly he was entrusted with the task.
The video accompanying the post shows the driver fast asleep in the passenger seat, while Chandwani takes control of the car. Reflecting on the experience, he humorously mentioned giving the driver a Rs 100 tip and requesting a 5-star rating in return.
Chandwani’s post, which carries a message of kindness and adaptability, has since gone viral, garnering over 11 million views. He wrapped up his post with a thoughtful reminder: “Life is full of unexpected detours. Be kind, be empathetic, and maybe brush up on your driving skills.”
