Bengaluru: A shocking incident has left the sports community in mourning as the international female kabaddi athlete was discovered dead by suicide in Bangalore. Dhanalakshmi, who had represented her country in kabaddi competitions at the international level three times, was found hanging in her room during Dussehra celebrations in Mysore. The incident took place while her father was at home.
Dhanalakshmi, originally from K. Thimmalapur in Channarayapatna taluk of Hassan district, had been residing in a rented house in Arishinakunte Adarshnagar, Nelamangala, for the past five years. She was employed in a private company in Kadugodi.
The athlete had come to Mysore to celebrate Dussehra with her friends. The tragedy unfolded when her father, suspicious of her absence, went to her room and made the grim discovery. A case has been registered in Nelamangala Town Police Station, with the parents of the deceased mentioning in the complaint that she took her own life due to some unknown issue.
The exact reason for this devastating incident remains unknown, leaving the community bewildered and saddened by the loss of a talented athlete.
