ISKCON Bengaluru will mark Sri Krishna Janmashtami with elaborate festivities across three venues — Hare Krishna Hill, Vaikuntha Hill, and KTPO Whitefield — on August 15 and 16.

The two-day programme will feature traditional rituals such as abhishekas, aratis, chappan bhog (56 varieties of offerings), pushpanjali seva, pallaki utsav, and jhulan seva at all locations. Deities will be offered a special bhog of 108 delicacies, adorned with fresh flower garlands, vibrant attire, and intricate jewellery. Temples will be decorated with colourful flowers, ornate lights, and festoons, creating a festive ambience.

Highlights include a grand abhisheka followed by arati and distribution of traditional food offerings. At midnight on August 16, devotees will witness an elaborate abhisheka commemorating Lord Krishna’s divine appearance.

As part of the celebrations, KTPO Whitefield will host Ananda Mahotsava, featuring cultural performances by Sid Sriram, the acclaimed Carnatic vocalist and playback singer, and Sadho the Band, known for its folk-fusion music.

Adding a modern touch, ISKCON Bengaluru will also present Swagatam Krishna, a digital Janmashtami celebration on August 16, enabling devotees from across the globe to participate virtually.

The events promise a blend of spiritual devotion, traditional culture, and vibrant music, inviting devotees and visitors to immerse themselves in the joyous celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth.
