Bengaluru: Jagadish Shettar, Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, on Sunday demanded the state government take stringent action against those communal forces involving in the murders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) activists in the state.

Appealing Minister for Home Dr G Parameshwari to take measures to prevent attacks on BJP and RSS activists in the state, Jagadish Shettar said the miscreants had hacked RSS activist Rudresh to death in a broad daylight a few days ago at Shivajinagar in the city. Now, the miscreants had killed Magali Ravi, the leader of BJP Yuva Morcha, Periyapattana. This murder had terrified people of Periyapattana. The communal forces have been indulging in violent acts by targeting BJP and RSS activists,’’ Jagadish Shettar said.

He said the prima facie evidence of the role of anti-national forces in the murders of Prashanth Poojari, Kuttappa, Raju, Rudresh and Magali Ravi. “Kerala based Popular Front of India (PFI) has extended its violent activities to Karnataka. I want the Home Minister to take stringent action against organizations that support violence. If the state government fails to take action against such anti-national organizations, one needs not to be surprised if law and order problems arise in the state,’’ he said.

He said the murder of RSS activist in Bengaluru had frightened the people in Bengaluru and the people are hesitating to come out of their homes. “The law and order in the state is deteriorated. The Congress government, instead of supporting anti-national forces, has to take action against such organizations. The government should allow police to take action against those organizations,’’ he said.
