Bengaluru: Hundreds of slums in the city are yet to get basic facilities like drinking water, toilet, good roads etc, but Jayanagar, one of the upscale areas of the city is all set to get hot water swimming pool. Keeping in mind the problems faced by the swimmers in the winter and rainy seasons, the state government has decided to develop a hot water swimming pool, which is first of its kind swimming pool in the state.
According to Jayanagar MLA, Sowmya Reddy, as per the proposal, this pool is coming up in the Byrasandra ward of the city. “The works of this new pool will be completed by February first week. This pool will help the swimmers to go swimming throughout the year, without having to bother about the weather,” she said.
According to the sources, the works of the project was taken up two years ago. “It is the first of its kind experiment in the state,” said an officer from the state youth empowerment and sports department.
