Bengaluru: The alliance between the JDS and Congress seems to be continuing even for the upcoming by-elections of the two Assembly constituencies in the state. This time, the JDS has decided to support its alliance partner, the Congress party in the by-elections which will be held for the Chincholi and Kundagol Assembly constituencies.
According to sources in the JDS, party supremo H D Devegowda has informed the Congress state leadership that the party will not field its candidates in both these constituencies. Instead, they will support the Congress.
It can be recalled that the by-election has been necessitated in Kundagola following the death of minister and local MLA C S Shivalli. Meanwhile, in the Chincholi Assembly constituency, the seat fell vacant after the resignation of incumbent MLA Umesh Jadhav, who quit the Congress party to join the BJP.
