Puttur: Rashtriya Svayam Sevaka sangha leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat was granted bail in the Kedila Shyam Prasad Shastry death case by the fifth district and sessions court.
Bhat has been granted an anticipatory bail before the next hearing of the case, which is scheduled for October 31.
A charge sheet was filed against Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Bonanthaya Shivashankar Bhat and summons against Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji accusing them of provoking the deceased Shyam Prasad Shastry to commit suicide.
Kedila Shyam Prasad Shastry had committed suicide on August 31, 2014, as news was being spread throughout the state that he tried to rape his sister-in-law Premalath. Shyam Prasad Shastry had shot himself as he was unable to face this problem.
