Bengaluru: In a big set back for BJP state president and party’s CM candidate B S Yeddyurappa, BJP national leadership has stopped him from announcing MP Shobha Karandlaje as the in-charge of Parivarthana Yatre of the party, which will be launched on November 2.
According to reliable sources, it was stated that BSY will lead the Yatre while Shobha Karandlaje would be the in-charge of the yatre. But now party central leadership has warned against making any such announcement.
“Instead this yatre will be carried out by the party district unit leaders. There will no in-charges,” sources said.
According to the sources, senior leaders had raised the issue with party central leadership stating that undue prominence to Shobha Karandlaje will create problems in the party state unit which is already divided into several factions.
The closeness between BSY and Karandalaje had been making rounds over the last several years and as per party sources, many of the old guards and loyal party workers have been miffed off because of Karandalaje’s interference in party policy decisions.
