Bengaluru: The members of Kannada Film Producers Association (KFPA) have demanded its President Munirathna Naidu to step down from the post at the earliest.

The demand came after reports surfaced that Munirathna distributed free tickets for the Rajini starrer Kabali for fans in his constituency. The incident drew wide range anguish against Munirathna.

Munirathna who is an elected representative in Bengaluru and also a producer of Kannada films, distributed free tickets for the Tamil film. This did not go down well with Kannadigas.

Similarly, five other MLAs including NA Haris also distributed free tickets of the film. Taking a step ahead, they watched the movie on the early hours of Friday itself.

This would fuel the anger of Kannadigas, if he is chosen for the minister berth he is vying for.
