Bengaluru: The custom officials arrested 22-year-old man was at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) here for smuggling gold. In total, 1.5 kgs of gold paste worth Rs 75.5 lakh was recovered from the arrested.
The man concerned landed at around 2:30 am via Emirates flight EK 568. The customs officials found an unusual band on his thigh during passenger profiling. On suspicion when was asked to remove it, they found gold paste strapped to his thigh with help of knee cap.
